Obituary of Donald Heintz

Donald L. Heintz Age 78, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Joliet Area Community Hospice. Born December 12, 1936 in Joliet, IL to Leo and Kathryn (nee Frankovich) Heintz. Don proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, Platoon 234, from 1954-57, stationed in San Diego during his tour of duty. He was a lifelong Cubs Fan and was active in his Shorewood Glen community where he and Geri lived since July, 2007. He proudly participated in their Veterans Group, regularly played in the Bocce Ball Men's League and worked on many community charitable projects. Preceded in death by his parents; and first wife, Mary Ann (nee Kovach). Survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Geri (nee Burk) Heintz; daughters, Karen (Mark) Goodson, Lenore (Don) Tobin and Karen (Andreae) Wolz; son, Bruce Andreae; sisters, Carol (John) Horvat of Crest Hill and Pat Makeever; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who he dearly loved; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services for Donald L. Heintz will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Avenue, Shorewood. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Joliet Area Community Hospice or American Lung Association (lung.com).
