Obituary of Jean Budde

Jean L. Budde Age 88, late of Senior Star at Weber Place, and formerly of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2015 with her family at her side. Born July 29, 1926 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Whitt and Vivian (Troxell) Hazelwood, she married Leo J. "Jack" Budde in 1948, and he preceded her in death April 9, 1977. Jean retired from St. Patrick's Residence where she worked as a human resources clerk for many years. She was a 25-year volunteer at the Rialto Square Theater and also volunteered at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in the Cancer Care Center. She loved the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, gardening and dogs, but family was the most important thing in her life. Surviving are her two daughters, Kathleen (Skip) DelRose and Diane (Frank) Bowers, both of Joliet; two sons, David (Nance) Budde of Joliet and William "Bill" (Lynn) Budde of Nancy, KY; nine grandchildren, Aimee (Michael) Gedvilas, Michael (Carrie) DelRose, Janet Bowers, Brett Bowers, Brad (Kelly) Budde, Matthew (Kelly) Budde, Danielle (David) Badgley, Kyle Budde and Jayleen Budde; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, June (Arne) Sandberg of Cody, Wyoming. The family would like to thank her extraordinary caregivers, Isabel Cole and Tonya Sellers, Senior Star Memory Care, and Harbor Light Hospice for their kindness and care. Funeral Services for Jean L. Budde will be Monday, April 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Jude, 2212 McDonough St., Joliet. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Rialto Square Theater, Will County Humane Society or Harbor Light Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Monday morning, 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
