Obituary of Henry Gordon
Henry Clay Gordon, Sr.
Age 77, late of Joliet, Illinois, formerly of Brownsville, Texas, and McKinney, Kentucky passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.
Henry was born in Gaffney, S.C. and was one of 15 children of the late John Henry Gordon and Lois Ruth Gordon.
He is survived by his siblings, Billy Ray Gordon, Wayne Gordon, Eula Crawhorn, Mildred Carmack, Gathie Sheehan, Ethel Rumfelt, Lydia Henderson, Ruby Scruggs and Rachel Brindle.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Vicki N. Gordon; siblings, Niles Gordon, Lewis Gordon, Walter Gordon, Pearl Arrowood and Frances Gordon.
His greatest pride and joy have been his children, James, Donald, Carol, Todd, Philip, Henry, Maryann, Robert; and his many grandchildren.
Henry was a United States Veteran of the Armed Forces. He joined the military at the age of eighteen on March 22, 1956.
Most recently, Henry moved to Joliet, IL to be near his sons, Henry Gordon, Jr., Donald Hastings, James Hastings, and daughter, Maryann Chen.
Visitation for Henry Clay Gordon will be Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Army at 3:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Hustonville, KY on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 pm. Interment to follow Fair Cemetery in Liberty, KY. For more information: (815) 741-5500.
