David W. Jump
Age 83, of Joliet, passed away Monday, May 4, 2014 at Symphony of Joliet.
Born June 2, 1931 in Des Moines, IA he was the son of Lou Elmer and Minnie (Raney) Jump.
He lived many years in the Duquoin, IL area, relocating to Joliet two years ago He worked as a welder for many years for Patriot Coal. He also worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company.
David was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Corporal, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was also a member of First Christian Church of Duqouin.
Surviving are his wife, Katie L. Krause of Joliet; daughter, Marilyn Mack Collins; granddaughter, Tabitha Lashbrook; sisters, Anna Mae Willavize of Sublette, and Myrtle M. Medernash of DeKalb; brothers, Richard L. (Nellie) Jump of Jacksonville, FL and Robert E. Jump of Hinckley; a nephew, Richard E. (Barb) Jump of Maple Park; numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Frankie Elvis.
Preceded by his wives, Dorothy A. (Stanhouse) Jump and Janet (Lashbrook) Jump; his parents; a sister, Betty Jump; and a dear friend who was like a brother, Donnie Williams.
Graveside services for David Jump will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded.
