Obituary of Verna Allen

Allen, Verna Mae (nee Barwick) Age 85, of Joliet and formerly of Marion, IL, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012. She was born June 11, 1926, in Goreville, IL to the late Della and Claude Barwick. She is survived by her son, Mike Allen; five grandchildren, Rich Law, Alicia (Jeff) Wyatt, Jamie Grabo, Andrea Allen and Jonathan (Amy) Grabo; and many great grandchildren. Also survived by one brother, Andrew (Millie) Barwick; two sisters, Jula Belle Kent and Juanita (Don) Bloodworth and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Ira Allen; two daughters, Brenda Kay Grabo and Linda Faye Allen in infancy and one brother Claude Barwick, Jr. Verna Mae retired from Kerr Glass of Plainfield, IL after 20 years of service. She was a member of Faith Bible Church in Joliet. As it was Verna Mae's request, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred. All friends and relatives are invited to gather for a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at: FRED C.
