It's been four years. Why is this not easier? People say time heals all wounds, but the grief is real. Everyone misses you. Our lives are somehow less without you. If there is something after this, I hope you are at peace and filled with all the knowledge you could ever want.

It’s hard to believe it has been 3 years. Bob is still very much in my thoughts. He was my best friend since we met in high school. We would play chess on pencil and paper in class and then hang out in Herb Hajicek’s final period study hall which really was the chess club. We were together at that influential moment in freshman English when Herb read Huckleberry Finn to us and asked if we ever thought about the things we thought about. He introduced me to the Sci Fi Book Club and gave me numerous recommendations because he had already read everything. Bob took me to Saturday Audio Exchange to purchase my first stereo. He was an obstinate Jimmy Page fan who never would admit that Rush or heavy metal made any contribution to music. We spent countless hours shooting pool and watching movies in my parent’s basement (he had seen The Highlander a dozen times when he introduced it to me). We saw each other less when he went to MSU and I to UIUC but we would meet up and shoot pool at the Wild Hammer. Bob taught me what single malt scotch was. After we grew up, Bob was a groomsman in my wedding. He founded the annual Chicago Auto Show/Chinatown trip and took us to all the best restaurants. Later we would meet for Maurie’s pizza and play board games. Bob helped me build my first computer and was always there to help me troubleshoot something and clean viruses off my dad’s computer. He was an amazing individual who was always there for you. He gave of himself and acted more Christ-like than anyone else I know. Bob, here’s to still missing you. Cheers!

I haven't seen Bob since 1993 when I left ComEd. I remember his big laugh and his excellent SciFi / Fantasy book recommendations. I think of him often when I read those books. I just heard of his passing and regret never seeing him since that time. My condolences to all his family and I pray he is at peace.

I remember many fun hours of board games with Bob at Jay Burke's house. He had a razor-sharp wit, good sense of humor, and a keen mind. I will miss his company.

My sincere sympathy and condolences to Bob's family. I went to school with Bob since we started at Reedswood. He will always be a memory of my childhood and growing up. Although we lost touch over the years, it doesn't lessen the spot he held as a classmate and a friend. I will always remember him as quiet, sweet and kind. Prayers to you during this difficult time.

Parrot,
As a founding member of the Monday Night Crew, you were always the voice of reason, keeping us on a straight course. Now with only three oars in the water, I'm sure we are destined to row around in circles. The weekend road trips to Michigan were always a great time and something to look forward to. The January trips to Chicago to see Buddy were great, I just wish I would have started going years ago.
I will always remember you.

I hardly know where to begin... The news of your passing was jarring. You were always one of the good guys. I learned so much from you when we worked together. You really helped me challenge traditional wisdom and stretch to achieve something greater within my work and within myself. The World has lost a great mind and an even greater sense of humor. Thank you for turning me onto Douglas Adams all those years ago. I will forever miss your laugh, your wit, and your wisdom. I am glad you are at peace my friend. And maybe one day we shall all get to meet for one last meal at that restaurant at the end of the universe...

Dry humor and sharp wit are my most treasured memories, sorely missed. So long and thanks for all the fish, indeed. The answer is 42.

Bob, you will be missed! You taught me a lot on life and amazed me on how much you knew about IT. You loved life, you family, your music, your movies and your whisky! I'm glad that you lived life the way you wanted to and didn't care what anyone thought and continued that way to the end. I will forever be thankful for having you as a friend and someone I could rely on! Be at peace my friend!
