Bernard F. "Ben" Mutz
Bernard F. "Ben" Mutz passed away peacefully on June 17, 2015. He is survived by his children, Nancy (Craig) Tuntland and Bernard R. "Ben" Mutz; grandchildren, John (Kimmi) Blackburn, Mark (Janet) Blackburn, Marina (Paul) Fricilone, Ben (Denise) Mutz, David, Ryan, Shayla, Zach, Steven and Lydia Mutz; great-grandchildren, Joey and Jordy Blackburn, Rylee and Nolan Blackburn, Ella and Harper Fricilone, Kellan and Carter Mutz; brother, Richard (the late Cordelia) Mutz; son-in-law John Blackburn; numerous nieces,nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife Margaret "Marge" (nee Kaldem); parents, Joseph and Anna (nee Gregorash) Mutz,; daughter Cindy Blackburn; granddaughter Kaysha Mutz; brothers Raymond (Phyllis), Clarence (Ruth), and Joseph Mutz; sisters Josephine (Edward) Pluth and Lorraine "Susie" Belay.
Born on August 25, 1927 in Joliet, Ben enjoyed sports and spent many years coaching area youth teams. He was an accomplished golfer, who in 1963 set the course record at Woodruff Golf Course with a score of 59. This record still stands today.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed many casino vacations with his wife Marge and their friends. He retired from Vidmar Buick after more than 40 years of service to the dealership, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ben lived a full life as a husband, father, and friend.

A Memorial Gathering for Bernard Mutz will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 416 North Chicago St., Joliet, IL. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Fred C. Dames Funeral Home.
