Obituary of Norman Cipolle
Norman F. Cipolle
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at home on Friday, April 16, 2010. He was born in Joliet on December 19, 1925 to John F. and Frieda (Hoefer) Cipolle.
Norm was preceded in death by his parents and beloved daughter, Bette Cipolle (1985).
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan (Hussey) Cipolle; children, Susan C. Trizna, Dr. Robert J. (Dr. Susan Benigni) Cipolle and Dr. Mark D. (Victoria Sabella) Cipolle; grandchildren, Rebecca L. (David Bourg) Trizna; Michael K. (Kathleen Kemp) Trizna, Dr. Christina L. Cipolle, Anthony J. Cipolle, Katherine E. Cipolle, Parker D. Cipolle, Natalie V. Cipolle and Olivia S. Cipolle; step-grandchildren, R.J. Albanese and Theresa Albanese; brother, David F. (Louise Semenza) Cipolle; sister-in-law, Roberta Hussey; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Norm had enjoyed music, especially Dixieland jazz and country music. He was an avid fisherman and loved watching all sports. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, who served in the Philippines. He graduated from the University of Illinois School of Pharmacy in 1950. Norm was a registered pharmacist, co-owner of Crest Pharmacy, member and past President of the Will County Pharmaceutical Association, member of the Will County Aesculapian Association, volunteer in the Will County drug prevention program and adjunct faculty with the continuing education program at Joliet Junior College. Norm was a member of the Joliet Evening Lions Club and host of the "Wednesday Night Ping Pong Club".
Norm's family would like to give a special thank you to dear friend and caregiver, Jamie Pfeiffer and the caring staff of the Joliet Area Community Hospice.
At Norm's request, his body has been donated to medical science for the education of the next generation of healthcare professionals. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 would be appreciated. Visitation for Norm will be Monday, April 19, 2010 from 3-7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home. All friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of Norm's life to be held at his grandson's Chicago Street Bar and Grill, 75 N. Chicago Street, Joliet immediately following the visitation.
