Obituary of Catherine Petersen

Catherine Kay Petersen (nee Zola) "Sis" It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected death of Kay Petersen on July 6, 2015 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. She was a lifetime resident of Joliet and a long-time Realtor who took great pride in assisting her clients with their real estate transactions. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jerry; children, Gerry (Steve) Fox and Jim (Nancy) Petersen; grandchildren, Chris (Dave) Evers, Lisa (Aaron) Ward, Scott (Elizabeth Gonzalez) Petersen; great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Hannah, Colin, Andrea Evers, and Sarah Ward; also survived by her sister, JoAnn (Jessie) Fonseca; sister-in-law, Kathy Zola; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Anna and John Zola; three brothers, John, Sonny and Chuck Zola; as well as two infant sisters, Helen and Veronica Zola. "Sis", a member of VFW Cantigny Post Ladies Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose, Chapter #84, enjoyed crocheting, e-bay, traveling and bowling. Kay and her husband could be found at any and every sporting event the younger members of their family participated in. They were true fans supporting all the nieces, nephews and grandkids. Funeral Services for Catherine Petersen will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, IL.
