Age 79, a lifetime Joliet resident, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Survived by her five children, Lynn Stoiber of Crest Hill, David French of Verona, Jack (Val) French Jr. of Fargo, N.D., Patti (Tom) Gura of Kinmundy, IL and Penny (Derek) Osiecki of Henderson, NV; eleven grandchildren, David and Sarah Stoiber; Josh, Justin and Stacie Gura; Amiee (Andy) Lowry; Jenna, Jake, Jessica and Jayme French; and Derek Richard Osiecki; four great-grandchildren, Ophelia, Oliver, Ainsley and Cullen; her foster daughter, Michele Wills; one sister, Marilyn (late James) Neilis of Joliet; several nieces, nephews and a wonderful group of supportive friends also survive.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Jack H. French, Sr. (December 31, 2005); one son, Richard (1964); her parents, Lester (Esther) Schwab and Mary,nee Gusich (Jack) Kane.
Jackie was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. She worked at the Ammunition Plant (APSA) and was a teacher's aide for a few years at Union School before working in the Deans office at Joliet Central High School. After her family was raised, she was employed at Silver Cross Hospital in patient accounts, retiring after 20 years of service. She also enjoyed working at Cub Foods for several years after retirement.
A Memorial Service for Jackie French will be held Thursday July 16, 2015, 7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. In lieu of flowers, Memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Memorial visitation also Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
