Josephine M. Cimino

Age 96, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home, Joliet.
Born May 26, 1919, in Cefalu, Sicily, she was a resident of Chicago until moving to Joliet 30 years ago. During her career, she worked as a millinery designing hats and in a factory engraving switches.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, aunt, and a dear grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed staying active and in recent years liked visiting the casinos.
Surviving are her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence :"Larry" and Marie Cimino of Joliet; her grandchildren, Daniel (Rachael) Cimino of Coal City, and Diana (fiancé Roger Egge) Cimino of St. Paul, MN; three great-grandsons, Dominic, Jacob and Augustus Cimino; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her beloved husband, Peter J. Cimino (1985); her parents, Vincenzo and Rosario (Terracina) Puleo; one brother, Joseph (Delia) Puleo; and one sister, Sally (Anthony) Macaione.
The family would like to thank Emeritus of Joliet, Joliet Area Community Hospice and Sunny Hill Nursing Home for their loving care and concern.
Funeral services for Josephine Cimino will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to the Church of St. Jude, 2212 McDonough Street, Joliet, for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles. Memorials in her name may be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Sunny Hill Nursing Home. Visitation Wednesday, 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
