Casimer C. Hamerla "Kayo" Age 90. Passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the Salem Village. Born in Joliet, and a life long Joliet area resident. Retired from U. S. Steel after over 48 years of service. Casimer was an avid homing pigeon racing enthusiast. Preceded by his wife, Marchetta (nee Litzen) Hamerla. Survived by and one daughter, Donna (Mike) Cronmiller of Mesa, AZ; five sons; Casimir Hamerla of Plainfield, Sherman (Terry) Hamerla of Joliet, John (Sarah) Hamerla of Cibolo, TX, Don (Ann) Hamerla of Helena, MT, and Tom (Marilyn) Hamerla of Beaumont, CA; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Casimer C. Hamerla will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
