Obituary of Florine Costello

Florine Rosalin Costello (nee Koetter) Age 85, of Channahon, passed away peacefully after a long battle with breast cancer on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Preceded in death by son, "Baby Brother"; her parents, Bernard and Josephine Koetter; her brother, Joseph; sisters Marian Koetter, Irma Jackson (Koetter), Dorothy Honkomp (Koetter) and sister-in-law Teresia Koetter (Birkenfeld) and brother-in-laws Clyde Honkomp, Charles Myers, Raymond Toth, Randal Kile, Robert Pierce. Survived by her brother, Thomas Koetter; sisters, Ida Toth (Koetter), Bertha Kile (Koetter) and Mary Myers (Koetter); her children, Patricia (Dennis) Clower, Brenda Catardi, Debra Keehma, Mary Jo (Bobby) Manion Steven (Alice) Costello, Teresia (Casey) Kjonaas, Karen (Fred) Smith, Kevin (Renee) Costello; 15 loving grandchildren, 19 beloved great-grandchildren; as well as her dearly loved nieces and nephews. Florine spent her childhood in Windthorst, Texas, later moving to Channahon; she was the fifth of seven children from a German Catholic family. She ventured into many different occupations during her years, with the latest being employed by Den's Diagnostics & Repair and Packard Transportation. After retirement, Florine was on-the-go, enjoying Bingo and senior lunches with the community, but most importantly spending time with her family. She was an extremely enthusiastic, big-hearted individual who centered her life on family. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten . Funeral Services for Florine Rosalin Costello will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd (at Essington), Joliet to St. Ann Catholic Church, Channahon for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Minooka. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Ann Catholic Church, Channahon, would be appreciated.
