Sister Rosemary Winter, OSF (1940 - 2015) died at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, Joliet, Illinois on July 30, 2015. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to the late Mabel and Albert Winter. One of thirteen children, she was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Frank, Richard and Edward Winter, her brothers Albert, Donald, James, Clifford, William and Michael Winter. She is survived by her brother Charles Winter of Bradenton, Florida and sisters, Mary Jane (Donald) Leech and Patricia (Lloyd) Arnold of Toledo, Ohio. Sister Rosemary was a treasured member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate (Joliet) for 58 years.
Sister Rosemary was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Toledo, Ohio and attended the parish grade school. She attended St. Francis Academy (Joliet Catholic Academy). She earned a Bachelor's Degree from the College of St. Francis (University of St. Francis) in Joliet.
Sister Rosemary's ministry was in the field of education of children in the primary grades. She taught in Chicago, Aurora, and Dixon Illinois, Fremont, Michigan and in Fairfield, Alabama. In Joliet she taught at Educare and Sacred Heart, St. Thaddeus and St. Joseph's Parish Schools.
The wake for Sister Rosemary will be at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, 1201 Wyoming Avenue, Joliet, IL, (Wyoming and Rt. 30) on Friday, August 7, 2015, from 2:00 - 6:45 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 4:45 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Procession will leave from Our Lady of Angels on Saturday morning, August 8, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. The Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, IL.
