Obituary of Dale Talkington

Dale E. Talkington Age 58, late of Morris, and formerly of Minooka, passed away suddenly, Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Morris Hospital. Born July 3, 1957 in Joliet, he was a life long area resident, and a 1975 graduate of Minooka High School. He worked for Flint Hills Resources as a chemical operator from 1991 to the present, and was a proud member of the Fire Brigade there for many years. Dale enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, but his passion was playing golf. He enjoyed his twice annual golfing trips and the many enduring friendships he made over the years through golf. He never met a stranger, especially on the golf course. He will also be remembered as a devoted husband and father, and a friend and mentor to many. Surviving are his beloved wife, Merrilee (nee Chism) Talkington of Morris; two sons, Chad (Shari) Talkington of Coal City, and Troy Talkington of Boston, MA; his parents, Lloyd and Esther (Harned) Talkington of Tennessee; two brothers, Gary (Liane) Talkington of Blue Island, and Paul (Dian) Talkington of Tennessee: three brothers-in-law, Tim Chism and Dennis Chism, both of Florida, and Rick (Jennifer) Chism of Marseilles; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Cooper; and his mother-in-law, Marietta Chism. Funeral services for Dale Talkington will be Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at Hope Lutheran Church, 305 E. Black Road, Shorewood, where he will lie in state from 10:30-11 a.m. Interment will be private. Visitation Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W.
