I wish to share this story about a conversation that I had with Mr. Stratz at a reception held on the Larkin farm for Lisa (Larkin) and Mike Millsap last year. I recognized Mr. Stratz as a fellow Knight of Columbus who sold me 50/50 Raffle tickets at the Fish Fry at St. Mary Immaculate during Lent. I introduced myself and started asking some questions about a piece of farm equipment that was in one of the barns on the Larkin farm. Mr. Stratz started to tell me about his farming experience and answered some of my questions. I was amazed at how easy Mr. Stratz made farming sound, because I know farming is far from being an easy vocation. We talked about how farmers have to be independent, resourceful and industrious. He impressed me as a very humble man. I also thanked him for his military service. We will miss him at St. Mary Immaculate and in our Plainfield community. May all his relatives and friends be comforted in this time of sorrow by your loving memories of him, and we pray with confidence that, through God's infinite mercy and love, Mr. Stratz rests eternally with Him.
