Daniel P. Nolan
Age 81, of Joliet, and formerly of Chicago, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Born and raised in Chicago until relocating to Joliet in 2002. A United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Retired blacksmith with the City of Chicago, proud member of BMST Boliermakers Local 1.
Preceded by his beloved wife, Mary Ann (nee Olson) Nolan; parents, Sylvester P. and Lillian (nee Affeld) Nolan; sisters, Mable (Benjamin) Blessing, Lillian (William) Pappas and Elvira (William) Rickert; brother, Thomas J. Sr. (Priscilla "Pat") Nolan, David Nolan; nephews, Michael and Thomas J. Jr. Nolan; and one great-nephew, Jacob Nolan.
He leaves behind his most valuable possessions, survived by his eight children, Martin S. (Nancy) Nolan, Mary K. (Rod) Laage, Maureen A. (Martin) Kraslen, Matthew D. Nolan, Colleen (Ernfried) Oberlander, Collette Nolan, Cheryl A. (Joseph) DiCato and Eileen M. (Tony) Wilson-Serpico; 20 grandchildren, Stephanie (Jim) Lantz, Daniel (Katey) Nolan, Matthew McAuliffe, Maryann (Terry) McMahon, Michael (Jessica) Laage, Johnathan Kraslen, Christine Laage, Ryan Nolan, Danielle DiCato, Martin Nolan, Heidi Oberlander, Benjamin Kraslen, Sara Nolan, Vincent DiCato, Cody Nolan, Tyler Wilson, Mary Ann Wilson, Emily Wilson, Jack Nolan, Isabella Serpico; nine great-grandchildren, Arianna and Melia Lantz, Meave, Rohan, Griffin Nolan, Madison and Emma, Noah and Kali Laage; one sister-in-law, Barbara Nolan; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Daniel P. Nolan will be held Monday, August 17, 2015 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black (at Essington) Rds. Joliet to the Church of St. Jude for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park. Visitation Sunday, 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
