James W. Clark
Age 94. Born February 27, 1915 to William and Maggie (Powers) Clark in Seward Township in Kendall County. James farmed up to 1960 in the Kendall, Will and Grundy County area. He worked for C. Thompson and Son and volunteered with the Minooka Fire Department. He retired from the State of Illinois in 1979 as a highway maintenance worker. He enjoyed retirement going fishing, gardening, and lawn mowing. He enjoyed going to dinner on Saturday nights and playing a Lone Hand of Euchre.
Once asked about a memorable moment in his life, he answered "I got married"; to his wife of 69 years, Leona (Drauden) Clark. He is survived by his wife; four children, Richard (Mary), David, and Jean Clark and Judith (David) Corbin; four grandchildren, Alan and Keith Clark, Shawn (Jen) Corbin, and Colleen (Chris) Fals; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler and Ashley Fals.
James was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, June Avery, Evelyn Skole and Virginia Decman.
James taught his children by example, go to work, be early, and work hard. Today his family celebrates James return to his heavenly father. Alleluia, Alleluia, Amen.
Funeral Services for James W. Clark will be Monday, November 23, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 303 E. St. Mary's St., Minooka where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery in Minooka. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to St. Mary Catholic Church Building Fund or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday 3-7 p.m. at:
