Obituary of Ann Kane

Ann M. Kane (nee Murdock) Age 84. Passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home. Born June 17, 1931 in Joliet, IL to the late Willis and Helen (nee Kiep) Murdock. She was a graduate of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Grade School, St. Francis Academy High School, Class of 1949 and the College of St. Francis. Formerly employed by the Public Service Company and was a second grade teacher at Crystal Lawns Elementary School in Plainfield. Ann also spent many years as a substitute teacher for the Joliet and Plainfield School systems. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Loving mother of three sons, John (Jen) Kane, Jr., Timothy (Christie) Kane and Michael Kane; beloved grandmother of Jack, Charlie, Ellie, Braden and Brody; Bailey, Ryan and Mason. Also survived by two sisters-in-law, Pat Murdock and Mary Cele (James) Doyle; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Thomas (late Merrily) Kane and Dr. Robert Kane. Numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph "Jack" Kane, Sr.; two sisters, Jane (Edward) Holland and Marion (David) Abbott; one brother, Willis Murdock; four brothers-in-law, Dr. James (Rita), William, Richard and Gerald Kane as well as her great-niece, Kathleen Piercy. Funeral Services for Ann M. Kane will be Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Fr. James Lennon officiating. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Catholic Academy, Universtiy of St. Francis or Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home would be appreciated.
