Obituary of Ana Barbosa

Ana M. Barbosa (nee Torres) Age 65. At rest Monday, August 31, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born in Mission, TX, the daughter of Rafael and Mercedes Torres, a lifelong Joliet resident. Retired from ComEd following 21+ years of service. Member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Knitting and crocheting were her greatest talents. She also was an avid cook and loved to dance to Tejano music. Survived are her loving husband of 46 years, Lupe Barbosa of Joliet; three children, Lupe (Kiki) Barbosa, Rene J. (Corina) Barbosa and Eva (Daniel) Gutierrez, all of Joliet; nine grandchildren, Alissa, Kaylee, Brianna, Rene, Cruz, Cienna Barbosa, Lexus, Austin and Daniel Gutierrez; one great-grandson, Landon; her mother, Mercedes Torres; three sisters, Mary (Luis) Ledesma, Dora (late Gilbert, Jr.) Salazar and Sylvia Valerio; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded by her father; and one brother, Ralph Torres, Jr. Funeral Services for Ana M. Barbosa will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12 Noon. As it was Ana's request, Cremation Rites will be accorded following Mass. Visitation Friday 4-8 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. For more information: (815) 741-5500.
