Obituary of William Cheney

William B. Cheney, Jr. "Wild Bill" Age 73. Passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at his late residence. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. Attended Colbertson Grade School, Washington Jr. High and Joliet Central High School. Employed by Cheney Construction and Cheney Ready Mix. Member of the Laborers Union Local #75A U.S. Army Veteran serving 28 months in Germany. A member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and Cantigny Post #367. Bill was severely injured in July of 1967 while working at the Pure Oil Refinery that left him physically disabled since that time. Survived by one brother, Lester John (Maria) Cheney; one sister, Sandy (Roy) Ravagnie; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by loving wife, Erika Cheney; parents, William B. and Violet Cheney Funeral Services for William B. Cheney, Jr. will be Friday, September 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Friday 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
