Obituary of Dorothy Gable

Dorothy M. Gable "Dor" (nee Ireland) Age 97. Passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Residence. Born in Joliet and a lifetime Joliet area resident. Preceded by her husband, Leo A. "Bud" Gable (1999); her infant daughter, Barbara; one grandson, David Lucas; parents, Howard and Mollie (nee Siefert) Ireland; one brother, Wayne H. Ireland; one sister, Marion (Rolland) Pullman; and one son-in-law, Thomas Lucas. Survived by three daughters, Kathleen (Tom) Whitgrove of Joliet, Susan (Roger) Moore of California and Nancy Lucas of North Carolina; one son, William (Jan) Gable of North Carolina; four grandsons, Tom and Patrick (Mona) Whitgrove, Eric Adams and Nicholas Lucas; three granddaughters, Lea Adams, Rachel and Kate Gable; great-grandson, Leo Whitgrove; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services for Dorothy M. Gable will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
