Obituary of Florence Pazulinec

Florence J. "Flo" Pazulinec (nee Henry) Age 90, a longtime Joliet area resident, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home. Born April 5, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of William Henry and Grace (nee Monts) Henry. Flo was raised in Rockdale, attending Rockdale grade school and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. Survived by three daughters, Sandra (the late Ray Hooper) Kinnett of Crossville, TN, Debra (Terry) Snyder and Bonnie Johnson; two sons, Lawrence (Joy) Tyda and Mark (Karen) Fitzpatrick-Tyda; two step-sons, Robert Pazulinec and Scott Pazulinec; one step-daughter, Linda (Roderick) Padilla; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Tyda, Sr.; second husband, Robert Pazulinec; her parents; stepfather, Clifford Swarthout; and two brothers, William and Harold Henry. Flo retired from Sunny Hill Nursing Home after many years of upbeat service as their Activities Director. She especially enjoyed transporting residents by bus for ice cream and sight-seeing adventures as well as running the ceramic shop located in the lower level of Sunny Hill. A long-time, active member of the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Cantigny Post #367 and First and Santa Cruz Lutheran Church where she loved singing in the choir and lending a hand whenever needed. She was a former member of WOTM, Chapter 84 and the Ladies Auxiliary of Joliet Elks Lodge #296. Funeral Services for Florence J. Pazulinec will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at First and Santa Cruz Lutheran Church, 55 W. Benton St. (at Ottawa St.) Joliet, where she will lie in-state from 10:30 a.m. until services begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation Friday, September 18, 2015 from 3 - 8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.
