Obituary of John Rogan

John J. Rogan, Sr. Age 92. At rest Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice home surrounded by his loving family. Born January 6, 1923 in Joliet. A U.S. Army veteran, John proudly served his country during WWII and is listed in the National World War II Memorial Registry of Remembrances. Retired from Teamsters Local #179 in 1984 and former owner of Rogan Trucking. He enjoyed fishing on Stony Lake in Hackensack, MN, playing the slot machines at the casino and spending time with his family, children and grandchildren. Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Pauline (nee Wedic); children, James (Deborah) Rogan, John Jr. (Lynn) Rogan and Patricia (Roger) Hiller; five grandchildren, Scott (Karen) Rogan, John III (Andy) Rogan, Sarah Rogan, Michele Dolbee and Jason (Lori) Rogan; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joseph Wedic; sister-in-law, Judith Hamilton; Karen (Mike) Foster who drove John to the casino and was like a daughter to him; and many nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his father, Albert Rogan; mother, Mary (nee Baudino); and stepfather, James Jones. A Memorial Gathering for John J. Rogan, Sr. will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of prayer service at 12 Noon at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the United States Army.
