Obituary of Bernard Gura

Bernard R. Gura Age 60. Passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 at home. Born in Joliet to the late Joseph and Rita (Brewer) Gura, a lifelong area resident. Graduate of Joliet Catholic High School (JCA) Class of 1973 and attended the University of Arizona. Formerly employed by ComEd, Midwest Generation and most recently a Bailiff at the Will County Courthouse. Member of the Joliet Moose Lodge #300 for the past 35 years and Knights of Columbus Council #382. Survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Lisa (Lemke) Gura of Joliet; three daughters, Connie Alling of Plainfield, Sarah Gura (Jim) Janik of Shorewood and Colleen Gura of Georgia; two grandsons, Todd and Max Alling; and his mother, Rita K. Gura of New Lenox; one brother Joseph C. Gura Jr.; two sisters, Patricia Scaperdine and Marie Schmelze. Preceded in death by his father, Joseph and his sister, Rita Dore. Funeral services for Bernard R. Gura will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus 604 N. Raynor Ave., Joliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Family will receive all friends and relatives at church from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass. Interment Ss.
