Obituary of Mary Billerman

Mary Lou Billerman (nee Long) Age 93, of Joliet, passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at Meadowbrook Manor, Bolingbrook. Born October 22, 1922 in Rockville, MD, she was the daughter of Douglas and Margaret (Buckingham) Long. She worked as the Dean's Secretary at Joliet West High School for several years. Mary Lou was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a former member of Ottawa Street Methodist Church. She loved to play cards, especially bridge, and enjoyed gardening, baking, and traveling. Surviving are her children, Susan (the late Donald) Johnson, John (Constance) Billerman, and Karen (Carl) Schumann; and five grandchildren, Mark Johnson, Amy Johnson, Julianne Billerman, Diana Billerman, and Andrew Schumann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Billerman (1976); her parents; three brothers; and two sisters. A Memorial Visitation for Mary Lou Billerman will be held Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Inurnment in Woodlawn Memorial Park will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Grace United Methodist Church would be appreciated. For more information (815) 741-5500.
