Obituary of Sunta Forte

Sunta Forte "Sue" Sunta "Sue" Forte, age 90, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Monday, November 9, 2015 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with her family by her side. Born August 10, 1925 in Yorkville, OH, she was the daughter of Dominick and Ada Spong. Sue was the owner and operator of Sue's Beauty Shop on Richards Street for many years, where many of her customers became lifelong friends. She was also known for her green thumb and her beautiful yard and flowers were enjoyed by many. Sue was an incredible baker, seamstress, and a creative and talented artist. Surviving are her daughter, Jean (late Billy) Garrison of Shorewood; one son, Don (Dee) Forte of Springboro, OH; two granddaughters, Andrea (Geoffrey) Flagg and Susanne (Joe) Trainer; four great-grandchildren, Alex and Aaron Flagg and Natalie and Kelsey Murnen; one brother, Don (late Norma) Spong of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded by her husband, Joseph Forte (2004); her parents; and one brother, Alfred (Kay) Spong. Funeral services for Sue Forte will be Friday, November 13, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to the Church of St. Jude for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
