Joseph William Saieg
Age 99, originally from Joliet, retired to Bradenton, FL from 1976 to 2013. Joe returned to Illinois where he died peacefully on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, six days before his 100th birthday.
Preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Rosemary (nee Dillon) Saieg (December 27, 2012); his parents, Esper and Rose and his three brothers, Richard, Albert and Robert Saieg.
Joe is survived by his two daughters, Maggie Gurka and Sister Marianne Saieg, O.S.F., both of Westmont, IL; three grandsons, Frank (the late Becky Dupuis), Michael (Kristen) and Dennis (Mary Sue) Gurka; six great-grandchildren, Abby, Peter, Emma, Mary Kate, Michael and Mia Gurka; and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was a loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa with a sense of humor and a faithful, caring heart.
Joe retired from Montgomery Wards where he worked for over 25 years.
Funeral Services for Joseph William Saieg will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate or Loyola Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Monday, 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Bradenton, FL at Manasota Memorial Park with graveside prayers. For more information (815)741-5500.
