Arthur F. Adcock
"Art"
Age 71, of Morris, passed away peacefully, Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born July 25,1944 in Granite City, IL to the late Arthur and Constance Adcock. A US Army Veteran. Art had a passion for driving and truly enjoyed his career as an over the road truck driver. He was also employed as a crane operator for the former F.J. Christiansen Roofing Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara (nee Boggs), and his parents.
Survived by his longtime friend, and partner of nine years, Sandra (the late Jerry) Clark; children, Mary (Joseph) Zehnder, Arthur "Bobby" (Tina) Adcock, David and Allen Adcock. Also survived by his nine grandchildren, including Donald whom he raised; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, David (Linda) Adcock, Tommy (Jacqueline) Adcock, Danny (Theresa) Adcock, Ruben Gonzalez, Carol (Durk) Andrews, Eleanor (Chuck) Bellaney and Peggy (Dale) Walters; many nieces and nephews; also his canine buddies who will miss him, Sassy, Lucky, Diamond and Elton John.
Art was an avid fisherman. He will be remembered as a kind and hearty soul who loved people and would help anybody.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 27, 2015 from 2 - 8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive, Morris. A prayer service will take place Friday evening at 7 p.m. with Fr. Ed Howe, C.R. officiating followed by Military Honors under the auspices of the Morris Color Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
