Genevieve A. Scheuber "Gen" "Jickie" (nee White) Age 93. At rest Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Wilton Center, IL to the late Thomas and Harriet (nee Henneberry) White. A lifelong Joliet resident. A graduate of St. Patrick Grade School and Providence High School. Gen was employed in retail sales, mostly Stuart's Women's Clothing for 35 years. A volunteer for the Rialto Square Theater and member of the Mother's Club and Altar and Rosary Society at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Also an avid Bingo player. Survived by her loving children, Mary Lynn (Mark) Odenthal of Joliet and Tom (Cindy) Scheuber of CA; daughter-in-law, Connie (late James) Scheuber of Shorewood; six grandchildren, Mark (Sue) Scheuber, Suzanne (Brian) Ciapinski, Beth (Luke) Olszta, John (Katherina) Softcheck, Jeff (Theresa) Softcheck and Lori (Jeff) Wear; seven great-grandchildren, Katie and Maddie Scheuber, Jillian Ciapinski, Presley Olszta, Faith Softcheck and Shannon and Cole Wear; a very special cousin, Jayne Vidmar; numerous nieces, nephews and many loving relatives and friends also survive. Preceded by her husband, Robert J. Scheuber; her son, James R. Scheuber; her parents; one brother; and five sisters. Funeral Services for Genevieve A. Scheuber will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or Parkinson Foundation would be appreciated. Visitation Friday, 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
