Kenneth L. Medows
"Ken"
At the age of 69, Ken was called home to be with his Lord and Savior suddenly on Saturday, December 5, 2015 as the result of an apparent heart attack. Born in Chicago and a longtime Oak Lawn, Justice, Lemont, Morris and recently Joliet area resident. He worked alongside his son for the last six years as a vice president and project manager of Medows Construction, Inc. of Shorewood. Ken was a man of God with a deep religious faith who used his God given talent in construction and working in missions in local communities in Haiti and Arizona. He was a good steward of his faith in Jesus Christ. He passed on a legacy by the way he lived his life of faith, family, goodwill towards his fellow man, hard work and professional excellence.
Preceded by his mother, Flora (nee Hibbs) Medows; father, Denny Medows; two brothers, Ben and Jim Medows; sisters-in-law, Julia, Joyce and Janet Medows; and one niece, Kristi.
Survived by his loving wife, Mary F. Medows of Joliet; his former wife, Norene Medows of Plainfield; six children, Tracy (Dale) Musick of Joliet, Debbie (Mark) Masters of Diamond, Dennis (Kristina) Medows of Plainfield, Aaron (Stephanie) Clift of Homer Glen, Erica (Phil) Gabel of Joliet and Kara (Terry) Spivey of Shorewood, IL; 14 grandchildren, Daniel, Ryan, Amanda, Jake, Jessica, Jacob, Mason, Ashton, Cole, Makenzie, Ryann, A.J., Phillip and Caroline; his stepmother, Mildred Medows of Marion, IN; two brothers, Chuck (Jackie) Medows of Oak Lawn and Bob (Pam) Medows of Hartford City, IN; one sister-in-law, Sue Medows; stepbrothers, stepsisters and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Kenneth L. Medows will Lie-in-State on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Living Water Church of the Nazarene, 118 E. Jefferson Street, Morris, IL 60450 from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Steve Cook officiating. As it was Ken's request, Cremation Rites will be accorded following his funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Living Water Church of the Nazarene Navajo Mission Trip would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Fred C.
