Lila Lee Messersmith "Peg" Lila Lee "Peg" Messersmith, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at her home in Morris, IL. Born March 14, 1934 in Springfield, IL, to George and Marie Nance. On April 23, 1951 in Springfield, IL she married William "Bill" Messersmith II. Peg worked at Morris Park Motel as a maid and front desk clerk, Monroe Egg Farm in Plainfield, Jemco in Minooka and was a caregiver to numerous people. Survived by her children William E. (Rose) Messersmith III of Henderson, TX, Crystal (Ray) Bailey of Braidwood, IL, Clarence (Terri) Messersmith of Crestview, FL, Lawrence (Gail) Messersmith of Plattville, IL, David (Susan) Messersmith of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Candy (Jim) Olson of Newark, IL, Jim Allen (Nancy) Messersmith of LaSalle, IL and Patrick Messersmith of Verona, IL; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by, her husband William (2008); her parents, sisters and brothers. Memorial services for Lila Lee "Peg" Messersmith will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ, 1330 Old Pine Bluff Road, Morris. Minister James Olson officiating. As it was Peg's request, cremation rites have been accorded. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. NO VISITATION. For further information (815) 942-5040.
