Obituary of Warren Eddy

Warren Lee Eddy "Poppy" Age 79. Peacefully Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice home following a 16-year courageous battle with cancer. He has found his victory in eternity with his loving Lord. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. Retired from Olin Chemical Company after over 30 years of service as the accounting manager. Warren, known to his family and friends as "Poppy", was the ultimate dad. He was the organizer, "rallying the troops" for the impromptu neighborhood baseball and football games. He loved life whether it was working in the yard, taking a camping trip or just sitting on the back porch enjoying his family at play. Preceded by his parents, Ted and Vivian (nee Ostrem) Eddy; and one sister, Elaine Nemanich. Survived by his loving soul mate celebrating 57 years of marriage, Jonetta Eddy of Joliet; his beloved daughter, Dawn (Colin) Carter of Plainfield; his loving son, Lee (Sarah) Eddy of Roselle, IL; the light and the spirit of his life, the two people that brought him so much joy and appreciation were his grandchildren, Devin Carter of Plainfield and Bryton Eddy of Roselle. The Eddy family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Sarode Pundaleeka and Joliet Area Community Hospice. Your human touch will be felt by our family forever. As it was Poppy's request, private funeral services were held with Rev. Robert Hahn officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
