Obituary of Barbara Jacobs

Barbara Ann Jacobs Age 80. Passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Waukegan, IL and an active member of the Joliet community for over 70 years. A member of the Joliet Jewish Congregation, where she was also past President of Hadassah and the Sisterhood. Preceded by her parents, Nathan and Frances (nee Alshuler) Gordon. Survived by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Myles L. Jacobs of Joliet; one daughter, Julia Gordon Jacobs of Plainfield; two grandsons, Draedyn and Charles Sanford; two sisters, Nancy (Marc) Freeman of Joliet and Diana (David) Klevens of Florida; and nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The Jacobs family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center and Joliet Area Community Hospice for the compassionate and loving care they provided for Barbara and our family. The family of Barbara Ann Jacobs will receive friends and relatives on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the Joliet Jewish Congregation, 250 N. Midland Avenue, Joliet. Rabbi Charles Rubovits will officiate. Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials to Joliet Jewish Congregation or Joliet Area Community Hospice in her name would be appreciated. Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
