Obituary of G. Vivian Richardi

G. Vivian Richardi (nee Bausano) Age 85, of Joliet, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born in Joliet and graduated from Providence Catholic High School, Class of 1948. Worked in Chicago before her marriage to Raymond in 1954. Vivian embraced the life of an Army wife and supported Raymond as he made the Army his career. Upon his retirement, they settled in Joliet and spent countless hours volunteering, mainly at St. Ambrose Church and School, St. Francis and Joliet Catholic High School. Vivian was inducted in the First Class of Honorary Alumni at St. Francis Academy. A member of Women's Auxiliary VFW #367 and St. Joseph Hospital. Left to cherish many loving memories are her two daughters, Stephanie (Ken) Sweigard of North Olmsted, OH, and Melanie Richardi (Wendell Drummond) of Joliet; and proud "Ma" to her four grandchildren, Kati Scarlett Sweigard of Nakatsugawa, Japan, Jared Anthony Sweigard, student at The Ohio State University, Andrew Joseph Drummond, December, 2015 graduate of University of Dubuque, and Timothy Raymond Drummond, student at University of Dubuque. Also survived by her sister, Mary Kay (John) Brozovich. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Raymond Anthony Richardi (2000); her parents, Louis and Catherine Bausano; and her brother, Robert Bausano. Stephanie and Melanie would like to thank Joliet Area Community Hospice for their support and guidance during this difficult time. Funeral Services for Vivian Richardi will be held Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Crest Hill, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Entombment in Resurrection Mausoleum will be private.
