Obituary of Barbara Hayden

Barbara Hayden (nee Grant) "Chick" Age 87, of Joliet, IL, lost her long, courageous battle with cancer Friday January 15, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born September 14, 1928 in Elgin, IL to the late Mabel (nee McNett) and Harold Grant. Beloved mother of Grant "Jim" (Deb) Hayden of Essex, lL and Kerri Hayden of Joliet; loving grandmother of Neil (Melody), Michael (Kristy), and Allison Hayden; proud great-grandmother of Nicolas, Jacob, Lucas, Joshua, Westley and the late Madison Hayden. Lovingly known as "Chick" to all who knew her, she loved antiques and the Blackhawks, however her passion was her family. As it was Chick's wish, cremation rites will be accorded. All friends and relatives are invited to gather Tuesday January 19, 2016 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. In lieu of flowers, memorials to her favorite charities-St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, JOHA Foundation or the Salvation Army-would be appreciated.
