Obituary of Jackie Carey

Jackie Carey "Jack" Age 76, of Morris, IL and a former Aurora, IL resident passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Park Pointe Healthcare and Rehab Center in Morris, IL. He was born in St. Francisville, IL on September 4, 1939. Survived by one son, Michael (Arlene) Carey; one daughter, Diane Carey; step-son, Brian Blevins; three granddaughters, Tiffany Carey, Jackie Sissler and Brittany Thornton; two step-grandchildren, Melissa (Tim) Golec and Michael (Tracy) Dente; four great-grandchildren, Bryce, Zoee, Brooklynn and Makenna; one sister, Billie Carey; two sisters-in-law, Julia Randal and Theresa (Patrick) Ramsey; four nieces, Heather, Janelle, Jennifer and Jessica. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary (nee Randal) Carey; and his mother, Edna Blevins Carey. Jack, a U.S. Army Veteran, retired from R.G. Smith in DesPlaines, IL as a truck mechanic and was previously employed at AKZO Equipment in Morris, IL. He resided in Aurora most of his adult life, raising his family there and had just recently moved to Morris to be closer to family. He will be fondly remembered by his family as a quiet man who was a dedicated confidant to his late wife, a hard working and supportive father who could fix just about anything, and a faithful friend you could rely on. As it was Jack's wish, cremation rites have been accorded by the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory in Morris, IL. A private family gathering is being planned for the Spring.
