Celia Catherine Moak
"Cele"
Age 88, a lifelong resident of Coal City, IL passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 at Park Pointe Healthcare and Rehab Center in Morris, IL.
Born June 5, 1927 in Coal City, Celia was the daughter of Mary (Girot) and Alphonse Herman. She attended Coal City School and graduated from Coal City High School. Celia married Bill Moak from Joliet, IL and they resided and raised their family in Coal City. Celia was employed by Self-Locking and in later years by Braceville School systems as a cafeteria worker and then by Ryder Transport as a school bus monitor. She was a homemaker for many years and an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who meant everything to her.
Survivors include her daughters, Sheila (Paul) Ventura of Katy, TX and Tina (Dean) Waldschmidt of Mukwonago, WI. One sister, Rosella (late Richard) Pancurak of Indiana. Five grandchildren, Matthew Waldschmidt, Dr. Megan Waldschmidt, Dr. Amy (Colin) Richards, Chris (Andrew Aschenbrenner) Ventura and Steven Ventura. Four great-grandchildren, Avah Waldschmidt, Zane, Everett, and Halle Richards. Also many nieces and nephews.
Cele was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred "Bill" Moak and her infant son, Paul Joseph Moak. Two sisters, Ann (late Donald) Johnson and Rita (late Albert) Cerutti. One brother, Francis (late Joan) Herman
A Mass of Christian Burial for Celia Moak will be celebrated Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at Assumption Catholic Church, 195 S. Kankakee Street in Coal City, IL. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington, IL. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Celia's memory to Easter Seals of Joliet, 212 Barney Drive, Joliet, IL 60435. Friends and family are invited to gather at the church Saturday from 12 Noon until time of services.
