Obituary of William Connors
William B. Connors
Age 88, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011. He was born in Joliet on November 21, 1922 to the late William and Hazel (Schultz) Connors.
Survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Marian (Futterer); and his four loving daughters, Jeannette (Jim) DaRosa of Lockport, Sue (Dave) Raspolich of Channahon, Chris (Rick) Miller of Joliet, and Maureen (Rich) Lenke of Mt. Prospect; dear grandfather of 17 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert, and his son, William E. Connors.
Bill was a graduate of the 1941 Class of Joliet Township High School. He served his country in the Navy and had a 26 month tour of duty in the South Pacific as a Yeoman Second Class during World War II. Bill retired from Rock Island Arsenal, Quad Cities, IL after his transfer from the Joliet Ammunition Procurement and Supply Agency. He was an avid reader, Cubs fan, and enjoyed listening to big band music. Bill loved traveling throughout the world with his wife, Marian, friends and family. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.
Funeral Services for William B. Connors will be Friday, April 29, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
