Obituary of Vera Kewley

Vera M. Kewley (nee Grissinger) Age 90. At rest, Monday, February 15, 2016 at LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottawa, IL. Born in Joliet to the late Harry and Theresia (Krieger) Grissinger, where she was a lifelong resident until moving to Marseilles five years ago. Formerly employed by Joliet Arsenal and Al Baskin Men's Store in Joliet. Member of First Presbyterian Church of Morris. Vera was an avid reader, gardener and loved to bake. Surviving are her loving husband of 71 years, Thomas L. Kewley, Sr. of Marseilles; two sons, Thomas L. (Crystal) Kewley, Jr. of Lisle, IL and Gerald S. (Yvonne) Kewley of Seneca, IL; one grandson, Ian Kewley; two step-granddaughters, Heather Lutyen and Melody Forth; three step-grandsons, Austin Gallagher and Chase and Chance Kramer; her sister, Anne (Richard) Franzen of Arizona. Preceded by her parents; one sister, Marian Pasteris; one brother, William Grissinger. Funeral services for Vera Kewley will be held Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 (at Deerpath Drive), Morris. Pastor Roy C. Backus to officiate. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
