Obituary of Sylvia Poremski

Sylvia F. Poremski Age 81, of Joliet, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center with her family by her side. Born May 21, 1934 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Julia Poremski. After 30 years of service, she retired from U S Steel Southworks where she was a pioneer in the establishment of the plant's computer systems. Sylvia is survived by her sisters, Stephanie (the late Jack) Heavey, Marie (Larry) Virtue and her brother, Frank (Nancy) Poremski; and eight nieces and nephews and four cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Julie (Alfred) Norlin. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Children's Home and Aid Society, 125 S. Poremski will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S.
