Helen F. Stubler
Age 101, and a lifelong resident of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Inn at Willow Falls.
Born December 14, 1914 in Joliet, she was the daughter of John and Mary (nee Slavik) Stubler. A retired secretary for a private investment firm in Chicago. Helen was a member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, its Pastoral Care Ministry, the Council of Catholic Women, and was named CCW Woman of the Year in 1987. She also was a member of Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center Auxiliary.
Beloved aunt of William R. (Madeline) Stubler of Rochester, NY, Carol M. (Louis) Costello of Joliet and Chandler, AZ, Jack C. (Darlene) Stubler of Forest Lake, MN, and Mary Ann Fransen of Duluth, MN; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and her nephew's wife, Marlene Stubler of Joliet Also surviving are special friends, Brian Larsen, Pam and Harry Leddy, Fred and Joan Bogwill, and Ruth and John Rohan.
Preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Isabel M. (Frank) Tushek; four brothers, William (Genevieve), George B., John (Helen), and Joseph (Mary) Stubler; and two nephews, Dick Stubler and Jim Stubler.
Funeral Services for Helen F. Stubler will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery will be private. Memorials in her name to the Cathedral of St. Raymond or Journey Care Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation THURSDAY MORNING, 9:00 to 11:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
