Obituary of Richard Smith

Richard L. Smith Age 73 years. Born May 29, 1942, passed away March 2, 2016 following a long illness. He was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. Retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 30 years of service, he then sub-contracted at Leach Homes for many years. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Vivian M. (nee Fisher) Smith; two daughters, Sherry (Dale) Cook and Tina M. Mahn; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Francisco) Aviles, Joshua Lake, Drew Cook, Lidia Cook, Christopher Mahn, Stephen Mahn and Benjamin Mahn; two great-grandchildren, Yessina Aviles and Liana Cook. Preceded in death by his parents Richard R. Smith and Elsie May Smith; son Richard R. Smith II and mother-in-law Helen Harrier. Graveside Services for Richard L. Smith will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 23060 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet with interment to follow. Visitation Friday, 3-7 p.m. at the Fred C.
