Obituary of Francis Tierney

Francis G. "Jerry" Tierney Age 90. Passed away peacefully Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his family by his side. Born in Joliet to the late Edward M. and Catharine (nee Wynne) Tierney. A W.W.II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. Retired from Reynolds Aluminum as a millwright after many years of service. A life member of Cantigny Post VFW #367. Survived by two sisters, Alice (late John) Trepel and Grace (Ray) Ryan; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his wife, Arlene J. Tierney; his parents; and two sisters, Doris Tierney and Eileen Tierney. Funeral Services for Jerry Tierney will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Mary Nativity for a 10:00 Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park where full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force. Memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
