Obituary of Francis Schoener

Francis J. Schoener "Frank" Age 73, suddenly Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at his residence as the result of a stroke. Born in Yugoslavia and a long time Shorewood area resident. A graduate of Joliet Junior College, Joliet Catholic High School Class of 1960 and St. Joseph Catholic Grade School. Retired as an Electrical Engineer. A member of the IBEW Local 134. He also spent some time as a barber at Al's Barber shop and was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. Preceded by his first wife, Judith (nee Surges) Schoener (1995) and Rosemary (nee Maszak) Schoener (2011); his parents, Albert and Louise (nee Lupse) Schoener and his son-in-law, Brian Graf. Survived by three daughters, Barb Graf of Plainfield, Cathy (Dan) Aerts of Shorewood and Karen (David) Mackley of Joliet; two sons, Mike (Sharon) Schoener of Bolingbrook and Stephen Schoener of Shorewood; five grandchildren, Abby, Emily and Chloe Graf and Logan and Sam Aerts; one brother, Mark (Marion) Schoener of Joliet; three sisters, Margie (Mike) Corcoran of Plainfield, Annie (Chuck) Sartorelli of Shorewood and Mary (Mike) Burke of Michigan; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services for Frank J. Schoener will be Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 102 N. Broadway, Joliet, IL 60435. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
