Obituary of Raymond Schlattman

Raymond H. Schlattman Age 80. At rest Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Hines V.A. Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Born in Mayville, MI to the late Harold and Sylvia (Clark) Schlattman, residing in Wilmington for 12 years. A former dairy farmer for many years. U.S. Army Veteran, 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Marlette, MI. He was an avid golfer and bowler, belonging to the Plainfield Mixed Bowling League. Ray's granddaughters were the world to him, from the youngest, who has a remarkable resemblance to his late wife, to the oldest, who he was her biggest softball fan. He was a strong man of faith and gentle kind soul. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy (Boyle) Schlattman (2001); his parents and his siblings, Joanne, James and Douglas. Survived by his son, Michael (Kay) Schlattman of Plainfield; two precious granddaughters, Michaela and Morgan Schlattman; one brother, Glen Schlattman of MI; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be held Monday, April 4, 2016, 11:00 a.m.at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Rt. 59, Plainfield, IL 60544. Please omit flowers. Interment Marlette Cemetery in Michigan at a later date. A memorial gathering Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 4-6 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, IL.
