Obituary of Betty Cook

Cook, Betty L. (nee Davis, Schroeder) Passed away July 24, 2012 in Marion, IL with her loving family by her side. Born on January 12, 1928, she was a very strong and inspiring woman who brought much joy and laughter to everyone who knew her. Betty was a long time resident of Joliet and had been residing in Thompsonville, IL for the last few years. In addition to being a wonderful homemaker, she was an office accountant for most of her life and a dedicated Avon representative for ten years. Betty enjoyed fishing, crocheting, sewing, and taking care of her family. Preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Oscar Schroeder; her loving husband, Don Cook; and one son, Stan Schroeder. Survived by her loving and devoted children, Arlene (Ray) Gibson, Lora (Kim) Kinzler, Jeanie (Roger) Bettenhausen, and Jamie (Ami) Schroeder; grandchildren, Brenda (Ray) Koehler, Melissa (Marty) Dragavon, Carrie (Justin Ruch) Gibson, Tina (John Tucker) Bettenhausen, Aaron Schroeder, Amanda (Chris) Gilbert, Amber Thomas, Adam Schroeder, Jackson Schroeder, and Matt Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Jake, Nathan, Marissa, and Bethany; one sister, Evelyn Hutchinson, and her beloved Yorkie, Ellie Ann. As II Timothy, Chapter 4, Verse 7 says, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." Betty was received into the arms of the Lord and will be missed by all. Funeral Services for Betty L. Cook will be Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at: FRED C.
