Obituary of Rita Gura

Rita K. Gura "Granny Bird" (nee Brewer) Age 94. Passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home. Born February 22, 1922 in Missouri to the late Albert and Mary (nee Irby) Brewer. Survived by her son, Joseph C. Gura; two daughters, Patricia Scaperdine and Marie Gura; daughter-in-law, Lisa Gura; grandmother of Natalie Storey, Angie Krumpoch, Connie Alling, Sarah Gura (Jim Janik) and Colleen Gura; great-grandmother of Todd and Max Alling; sister of Nelda Rohrer; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph (1992); son, Bernard Gura (2015) and daugher, Rita Dore (2015). Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1313 Ridgewood Avenue, Joliet from 9-10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following visitation at 10:00 a.m. Interment Ss.
