Obituary of Yolanda Corradetti

Yolanda Corradetti "Yola" (nee Pesce) Age 89, of Joliet, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, April 19, 2016, with her loving family at her side. Born February 23, 1927 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of Francisco and Angelina Pesce. "Yola" will be most remembered for her unconditional love and devotion to her husband, John, her family, and her many friends. Every meatball, pizzelle, biscotti, cream puff and apple strudel was an expression of pride and love. She enjoyed countless hours spending quality time with her four kids, six grand kids, and five great-grandkids, taking family vacations and just being "a force of nature" in their lives. She worked hard throughout her married life, always in the service of others, particularly as Director of Activities at Four Seasons Nursing home, where her kindness, friendliness and compassion were unparalleled. In addition, Yola was a member of St. Paul's Church and Paulites, Joliet Women's Club, and St. Joe's Medical Center "Positive People" where she proudly assisted cancer survivors like herself. She worked as Director of Four Seasons Nursing Home and as manager of the Boston Store beauty salon. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Surviving are her beloved husband of 67 years, John Corradetti; her children, John (Martha) Corradetti, Jr. of New Lenox, June (Tom) Doughty of Joliet, Jean (Steve) Yates of Shorewood, and Jim (Mary Lee) Corradetti of Chicago; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother Angelo (Lena) Pesce; one sister, Edith Pesce; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded by her parents, Francisco and Angelina Pesce; and six brothers and sisters. Funeral Services for Yolanda Corradetti will be held Friday, April 22, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds, Joliet to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to John and Yola Corradetti Endowed Scholarship Fund c/o Joliet Junior College Foundation, 1215 Houbolt Road, Joliet, IL 60431 would be appreciated.
