Obituary of Charles Smith

Charles E. Smith "Chase" Age 83, of Plainfield and a former 30 year Burbank resident, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at home. Army veteran of the Korean War.He enjoyed painting, gardening, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. Survived by five children, Sherry Lee (Steve) Defenbaugh, Charles E. Smith Jr., Catherine R.(Daryl) DeMars, Carl E. (Kim) Smith, Carolyn "Carrie" M. (William) Yorkman; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one brother, Daniel Smith. Preceded in death by his wife, Catherine M. Smith (2011); Funeral Services for Charles E. Smith will be Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the United States Army.
